World Industrial Design Conference (WIDC) is co-founded by China Industrial Design Association (CIDA) and design organizations from more than 40 countries and regions around the world. Up to now WIDC has scaled up successively with participants from over 60 countries and regions. It is a platform for gathering global design innovation resources, innovation cooperation between countries and regions, cultivating innovative talents and delivering innovative ideas and resources to less developed regions. With profound international influence and appeal, WIDC is an important force to boost the development of the world’s design industry.With the great support from United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Global Design Industry Organization, the World Industrial Design Conference 2021 was grandly held from October 22 to October 24 in Yantai, Shandong Province, China.

Themed “Design the Age of Digital Intelligence”, the Conference attracted governmental agencies, design institutions, universities, entrepreneurs, scholars, designers and other innovation-leading talents, from over 60 countries and regions, namely, China, United States, Germany, United Kingdom, Brazil, Netherlands, Austria, Australia, Italy, Russia, Japan, South Korea, etc., to participate online and offline. Centred around Innovative Development of Industrial Design at The Age of Digital Intelligence, sharing of thought, discussions and exchanges of ideas and cooperation were held in sessions during the Conference.

WIDC2021 Exhibition, China Industry Design Top 100 Award Ceremony, Round-table Summit and Forums have been held. Significant projects, namely the first batch of National Industrial Design Institute, World Design Park, and Digital Intelligent Design Sharing Cloud Platform of GDIO have been released and launched. And quickly after the Conference, the strong atmosphere of industrial design innovation has spread out home and abroad, online and offline.
